We look back on a successful 2nd edition of In4nite at the Dutch Design Week with nine days of exchanging ideas and knowledge and the public presentation of the designs by this years group,  which denote the results of a complex creative process.

With the presentation at the Dutch Design Week 2018, In4nite II continued to amaze by providing a glimpse of what innovative cross over between technology and design can accomplish. For example, the Colback® Rope landscape by Rick Tegelaar,  Spatial Colback® panels by Dana Dijkgraaf, Tufted wall pieces by Mieke van den Hout, shoes moulded out of Colback® by Joris de Groot and ultrasonic welded Colfront by Daphna Laurens.

As In4nite was set into motion by the desire to unlock new possibilities for Low & Bonar, the project testifies to the fact that as a company, Low & Bonar is capable to not only think out of the box, but also act out of the box; in taking on novel forms of collaboration, and taking serious their research into new chains of value. To underline this fact, In4nite II presented a seminar programme that functioned as a platform for discourse and knowledge exchange.

One of the highlights of the Dutch Design Week presentation was the launch of Low & Bonar’s new innovation product range Enkair®. Enkair® is based on Low & Bonar’s proprietary polymer 3D-spinning technology. On the occasion of the new product launch, Low & Bonar announced that it will support the Enschede based Sheltersuit Foundation by Bas Timmer, by donating Enkair® cushioning material for the manufacture of the organization’s new Shelterbags. These bags are are supplied free of charge to homeless people and Syrian refugees.

To underline this fact, In4nite II presented a seminar programme that functioned as a platform for discourse and knowledge exchange.

The seminars turned out to be a real hotbed for creativity and innovation; Many inspirational dialogues were held amongst others by Ocean Ambassador Willemijn Peeters of Seariouss Business, Mr Bonazzi of Aquafil Group and José Teunissen Dean of School of Design and Technology in London. As such, In4nite operates as a platform that supports open discussion in considering the ways in which materials can be applied.

The first edition of In4nite and its subsequent presentation at the Dutch Design Week, marks the very birth of the In4nite platform. The possibilities we have generated for and with the designers and the designs has thus far not yet halted, in matter of fact; With the presentation of In4nite II, we have unlocked new possibilities and ideas we would like to investigate in greater depth.

As such, In4nite shows that there are infinite possibilities when you don’t believe in limitations.

With In4nite a stone was cast into the pond and the magnitude of its ripples are becoming apparent only just now.

During the In4nite Seminars designers showcased activities/ trends/ thinking/ development in conjunction with subject matter experts on topics such as Waste 2 Value and Change; what to do with plastics?
