Did you know that material made right here in Enka, NC is helping make a positive impact where it matters!

During the development of Enkair® the Low & Bonar group was approached by the Sheltersuit Foundation by Bas Timmer. They were looking for a source of textile waste to use in their charity suit – a unique design of a coat that can be easily transformed into a sleeping bag or thin mattress. These coats are supplied free of charge to homeless people and Syrian refugees. Sheltersuit found that leftovers of Enkair development trials were perfectly suited to providing the required cushioning effect.

When the development of Enkair® was completed, waste material was no longer available: Low & Bonar had developed the recycling process to re-use waste material in its production process. In order to allow Sheltersuit to continue enjoying the use of Enkair®, the Company has become a corporate sponsor for their new invention: Shelterbags. #Enkaproud #Buildabetterworld
