Project overview

Our world is seeing a fast increase in resource need with a population of nearly 9 billion expected by 2030. With the current linear approach of growth we assume that resources are abundant and cheap to dispose of. So linear has to become circular – we simply cannot survive linear on a circular world.

Circular Economy, as it suggests, is a redesign of the future by creating new business models and a consumption approach of “cradle to cradle”. Through reusing and recycling, “waste” is turned to resource – and it is starting to have value.

In the In4nite ‘Waste 2 Value’ seminar we will focus on the furniture industry. And you will be able to learn from and interact with some great people in this field. There is Willemijn Peeters from Searius Business, the ‘Ocean ambassador of the Netherlands’ active for more than a decade in mobilizing business leadership towards a sustainable world. Chris Martin from Bettje, the developer of the circular child-bed that treats his product and business as if it is his 4th child. Bas Timmer runs a warm-hearted charity-foundation, supporting refugees with the Sheltersuit, a water- and windproof coat that can easily be transformed in a sleeping bag.
